FISHING
Fishing is family fun in Muskoka
There’s no such thing as a bad day’s fishing... especially when you’re fishing in Muskoka! Whether your preference is lake or river fishing – even ice fishing or fly-fishing – you’ll find nothing but great angling experiences throughout cottage country.
Simply bring along a fishing rod and tackle, make a quick stop at the corner store for some bait and cast off from the dock, leaving the rest to mother nature. Die-hard fisher folk will want to check out any one of the numerous outfitters in Muskoka, each ready and willing to provide a guide or escort to take you to some of north country’s best fishing spots. Equipment rentals and tours are also available, including canoe packages, fly-ins, charters and boat rentals.
Be sure to pick up your fishing license from any Muskoka-area bait and tackle store or marina, and check what fish are in season with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.
Muskoka’s waterways contain a tremendous variety of fish, including bass, trout and pike, and are so plentiful that even the youngest or least experienced in your family is sure to catch something!
