They are all teaming up to bring you the Algonquin Golden Encore Contest, a contest prize pack that will give you a newfound appreciation for fall’s Golden Encore.
What is the Golden Encore?

To understand the Golden Encore, you need to understand the timing of fall colours.
Fall colours begin with the red maples and sugar maples turning a fiery red. The result is absolutely stunning, but often times they get all the glory. Once this fiery red display is over, there is this assumption that the colours have come and gone.
Not so fast.
The Golden Encore is fall’s last hoorah, as poplar and birch leaves (the last to turn colour) go up in colourful blaze of golden yellow. It is really an amazing scene, especially in the forest where everywhere you look you see gold.
Like all encores, this is arguably the best part of the show!
Algonquin Golden Encore Contest Grand Prize
The grand prize is a one-of-a-kind experience combining a fully outfitted wilderness camping experience from Algonquin Outfitters, with the indulgence of a pampered stay at Deerhurst Resort, all during one of the most beautiful times of the year in Muskoka.
The total contest prize value is $2,500!
- One night camping stay in Algonquin Provincial Park, fully outfitted by Algonquin Outfitters. Outfitting package includes use of all the camping equipment, canoe with paddling & safety equipment and two Salsa fat bikes
- A locally inspired gourmet dinner prepared and served at the campsite by Deerhurst Resort Executive Chef Golden including chef’s selection of wine
- Breakfast and lunch at the campsite on the second day
