Many Great Shows this Fall Presented by Huntsville Festival of the Arts

A talented mix of musicians taking the stages in Huntsville this fall

The Huntsville Festival of the Arts is featuring some great fall concerts in various locations around Huntsville including the Algonquin Theatre, Deerhurst Resort, and Sandhill Nursery.  There are 7 great shows to enjoy, each will blow you away with the musicians voices and instrumental talent!

Nursery Nights at Sandhill Nursery

Nursery Nights at Sandhill Nursery is back for its second year, Nursery Nights is an intimate concert series that takes place on the beautiful grounds of Sandhill Nursery. There are four concerts with a showtime of 7:30 pmTickets range from $20 to $45.

Sep 21: Danny Michel-The only good thing about not shopping in record stores anymore is you won’t have to figure out what genre to look for Danny under. If that were the case, you could try looking under, rock, pop, folk, world, or even classical. BUY TICKETS
Sep 28: Madison Violet-Canadian JUNO-nominated musical duo, consisting of Lisa MacIsaac and Brenley MacEachern. BUY TICKETS
Oct 5: Angelieque Francis– JUNO Award-winning artist Angelique Francis, is a versatile and exceptionally gifted musician. BUY TICKETS

Tom Cochrane Songs & Stories at Deerhurst Resort Legacy Hall

Oct 6: Huntsville Festival of the Arts presents Tom Cochrane. With a fabled career of almost 50 years, Tom Cochrane has rocked stages as both the lead singer and songwriter for Red Rider, and as the solo act that launched him into the global success he is today. A Canadian Musical Hall of Fame inductee, Tom will bring an intimate duo show to Deerhurst Resort. Concert starts at 8:00PM, tickets $62-$72.

Seven great concerts at Algonquin Theatre

Huntsville Festival of the Arts have seven great concerts happening at the Algonquin Theatre.

Oct 24: Donovan Woods: Living Well Tour– Since he released his first album a decade ago, singer-songwriter Donovan Woods’ blend of folk, country and pop has resonated with audiences all over the world.

Nov 2: Matt Dusk Sings Tony Bennett – Platinum award-winning crooner Matt Dusk pays homage to the legendary Tony Bennett, in a toe-tapping, electrifying show titled “The Best Is Yet To Come.”on is donated to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.

Nov 8: George Canyon – George Canyon rose to becoming one of Canada’s hottest Country Music stars in the early 2000’s and has won countless accolades and awards, including Juno Awards, CCMA Awards, and ECMA Awards to name a few. He has been inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame, recorded 12 albums, and was presented a certified Platinum Award for his debut album ‘One Good Friend’. With country iconic hits like Just Like You, I Believe in Angels, Drinkin’ Thinkin’, Daughters of the Sun, I Got This, I Want You To Live, Slow Dance and many, many more, he is also a highly regarded humanitarian, strong supporter of the military, and, most important, a proud father and devoted husband.

Nov 21: Sue Foley – Prepare for a captivating musical journey with ONE GUITAR WOMAN, Sue Foley’s new solo acoustic tribute to female pioneers of guitar. Foley’s much-anticipated album on Stony Plain Records was released on March 29, 2024.

Nov 23: Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition – Holiday magic is made year after year by Ballet Jörgen’s traditional treasure The Nutcracker: a Canadian Tradition. Created by acclaimed choreographer and Artistic Director Bengt Jörgen to Tchaikovsky’s well-loved score, this delightful classic is a favourite that brings magic to the holidays.
Two shows: 2 PM and 7:30 PM

Nov 27: Glass Tiger: This Island Earth – If you were a music fan in the 80s, you would have had to have been living on another planet in order to have missed the launch on MuchMusic of Canada’s very own GLASS TIGER. People all around the world joined in the frenzy that was; “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone),” “Someday,” “My Town,” and “Diamond Sun” to name but a few. Join Glass Tiger with special guest MuchMusic VJ, Erica Ehm, for this “one-of-a-kind” retrospective of the music that travelled the globe. Together they will take you on a journey of the home we call….THIS ISLAND EARTH.

Dec 13: Good Lovelies-Christmas 2024 – Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Susan Passmore are a trio of songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, and gorgeous harmonizers known for their nostalgic sound during the holidays that crosses between folk-roots, old-time swing, soul and bluegrass.
Accompanying them onstage as always will be their Merry Men, featuring some of Canada’s finest musicians – Robbie Grunwald, Steve Zsirai, and Mark Mariash.
This year, the band will also weave in selections from their 2024 Juno-nominated album, We Will Never Be The Same. Combined with their usual banter, the show is a guaranteed good time for the whole family.

The Strumbellas-Part Time Believer at Deerhurst Resort – Legacy Hall

Dec 14: Huntsville Festival of the Arts presents Two-time Juno award winner The Strumbellas have a versatile sound with a passion for music that spans alternative country, indie rock and gothic folk. Formed in 2008, they have since travelled the globe with their passion for music, playing at well-known festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo. They are best known for their 2016 hit “Spirits.”
