The iconic Muskoka chair is undoubtedly recognized around the world and is the perfect place to sit back and relax while taking in the fresh air and sounds of nature, while falling into a state of serenity.
Brought to you by the Township of Muskoka Lakes, this one-of-a-kind chair tour highlights the very best (and most comfortable) views in Muskoka Lakes. There are 10 chairs scattered throughout the beautiful region, just waiting for you to find them and take a seat. Most of the locations are dog friendly for those of you with furry friends (but please be courteous and keep those lovable fluff balls on their leash).

1. Walker’s Point Lookout Trail
Visitors are welcome to hike to the top and enjoy one of the best views Lake Muskoka has to offer.

2. Hardy Lake Provincial Park
Hardy Lake Provincial Park trails are some of the best in Muskoka. Well marked with fascinating geology and diversity, brilliant vistas of Hardy Lake and Lake Muskoka. Head left from the parking lot and find the chair on the south shore of Hardy Lake.
3. Torrance Barrens
Encompassing 1,990 hectares (5,000 acres), the Torrance Barrens Conservation Reserve is one of the most striking geological areas in Muskoka. An ideal place to view the night skies, this conservation area was designated as the world’s first permanent Dark Sky Reserve. Located straight ahead from the head of the trail overlooking the Highland Pond.
4. Moon River Lookout
Located on Bala Fall’s Road at the Cenotaph Park, enjoy a wonderful look down the historic Moon River. Don’t miss the Falls just around the corner.
5. Bala Town Dock
A regular meeting spot for boats in the summer, sit back and relax looking out over Lake Muskoka from the Town Dock.
6. The Wall in Port Carling
The 111-by-45-foot photo mosaic, affectionately called The Wall, provides a breathtaking welcome to Port Carling. It comprises 9,028 pictures that together create the image of the RMS Sagamo passing through the Port Carling locks circa 1922.
7. James Bartleman Island
Search the Island for this chair awaiting you and a spectacular view down the Indian River heading towards Lake Rosseau.
8. Port Sandfield Swing Bridge
Nestled on the point of the Port Sandfield swing bridge dock, the view of Lake Joseph and iconic Muskoka cottages is waiting for you.
9. Huckleberry Rock Lookout
Huckleberry Rock has been well known locally for over 100 years as a magnificent scenic lookout. Rocks on this trail are some of the oldest in the world, well over a billion years old. The view from Huckleberry Lookout is another must-see.
10. Windermere Dock
Located just below the famous Windermere House, this Muskoka Chair offers a lookout over the well known Lake Rosseau.
