Fun Fact

Muskoka’s steamship heritage is older than Canada itself. The first ship steamed Lake Muskoka in 1866.

In 2017, the historic RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Segwun celebrated its impressive 130-year history as North America’s oldest operating mail steamship. The RMS designation became a mark of excellence, as these ships carried mail and were contracted to always be on time. Located at the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst, it is accompanied by the Wenonah II, a modern tribute to the original steamship Wenonah, which sailed Lake Muskoka.
