About
Lots to do – year round at Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery! Every day you can shop, tour and taste what Muskoka’s all about. They’re passionate about what they do, and love to share it with visitors. That’s why they’re open 363 days a year ( close Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Every season brings new discoveries, so plan your visit now! Spring:There’s a long tradition of maple syrup in Muskoka, starting with the natives who discovered the secrets of ‘sweet water.’ Our farm had a rich history of being tapped by natives and pioneers that ended almost 100 years ago when forest fires swept through Muskoka. In the intervening years, our 350 acre farm has reforested, and now the third Johnston generation is ‘tapping in.’ Summer: You can enjoy a hike through marsh trails, enjoy a Bog to Bottle Discovery. Fall: Plan some fun at the Cranberry Harvest. Harvest is the most exciting time of the year. It’s when they (quite literally) get to see the fruit of their labour! Harvest starts two weekends before Canadian Thanksgiving and are usually finished by October 31st. They harvest only once a year. There is 27 acres to pick and produce around 300,000-400,000 lbs of cranberries. Winter: the ice skating trail and snowshoe trails open Dec 27 and are weather dependent. There are over 10km of awesome snowshoe trails and 1.3km ice skating trail. Skate & snowshoe rentals are available.
