About
Voted “Canada’s Best Country Store”, this famous general store is a “must-see” for anyone visiting the Muskoka area. The store has been owned and operated by the same family since 1921, and sprawls over 14,000 sq.ft. of retail space. Driving to or from Algonquin Park? Why not take the alternate route through Dorset (Muskoka Road 117 and Highway 35) and stop to visit Robinson’s General Store along the way?
Shoppers can find gifts, souvenirs, housewares, clothing, footwear (where moccasins are a specialty), Food Town supermarket, Home Hardware, and upstairs Ladies’ Boutique. Public washrooms are available (second floor walk up only), ATM, and propane cylinder exchange. Ample free parking or come by boat on beautiful Lake of Bays. Dorset is also home to the famous Scenic Lookout Tower and the snowmobile trail comes right into downtown. Dorset is about a half hour drive from Huntsville or Bracebridge.
